The grassroots side of The Public Chat. We host playdates and pop-ups across San Francisco — low-key meetups where SFUSD families talk honestly with families still deciding. We also run a network of parent ambassadors who carry these conversations into their own communities, one neighbor at a time.

Join us to hear real talk about SF Public Schools: honest perspectives, real-time data, and personal insights from SFUSD families.
SFUSD Enrollment Fair
Join members of The Public Chat at SFUSD's annual enrollment fair, where families who will apply for PK, elementary school, middle school, or high school for the 2027-28 school year can come to the fair to learn about the application process, meet school principals and other representatives, and access the resources provided by SFUSD and other city agencies and community organizations.
Southside Playdate
For families in the Southside of SF weighing their elementary school options. Location: Bernal Heights Playground. Join us for conversation, community, food, drink, and arts/crafts for the kids.

Westside Playdate
A low-key morning at Mountain Lake Park (10th Avenue Meadow) for preschool families curious about SFUSD. Bring your kid, meet a few families who chose public school, and ask us anything. FREE BOUNCE HOUSE, food, drinks, and honest conversation.
Lunch & Learn on "School Tours"
Thinking about applying to schools in SF this fall? Join a free virtual Lunch & Learn on "School Tours", co-hosted by Integrated Schools SF, a group focused on educational equity in school choice, and The Public Chat, a parent-led advocacy group for public school enrollment. Autumn Brown Garibay, public school parent and candidate for SFUSD Board of Education, will help you get beyond the "good school/bad school" narrative and figure out what matters for your family on a tour.
